Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions buyers ask us most often.
Press brake basics
What is a press brake machine used for?
Bending sheet metal and plate into angles, channels, boxes and profiles using a punch and V-die.
What are the main types of press brake?
Mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electric by drive; conventional, NC/PLC and CNC by control. Devraj makes hydraulic press brakes with conventional, PLC/NC or CNC control.
What is the difference between NC and CNC press brakes?
NC/PLC machines programme stroke depth and back gauge; CNC machines control each cylinder independently and calculate angles from material and tooling data. See CNC vs hydraulic press brake.
How is press brake tonnage calculated?
For air bending, force per metre is about 1.42 x tensile strength x thickness² / die opening. Use our tonnage calculator.
Devraj machines
What is the capacity range of your press brakes?
From 20 T / 1500 mm (PBR 215) to 400 T / 6000 mm (Heavy Duty CNC 400T). See all models.
Do you make hydraulic shearing machines?
Yes, 37 DHSM models from 2 mm to 25 mm mild steel and 1500 to 4000 mm cutting length. See hydraulic shearing machine.
Can you build a non-standard size?
Yes, longer beds, deeper throats, more open height and specific controls can be quoted. Send your requirement.
Which controller do your CNC press brakes use?
The controller and axes are specified per order based on your parts and budget, and confirmed in the quotation.
Buying and delivery
Where are you located?
Plot No. 144/2, Wonder Point Building, Between Rabari Colony, CTM Cross Road, Amraiwadi, Ahmedabad - 380026, Gujarat, India.
Do you supply outside Gujarat?
Yes, across India, including Maharashtra. Delivery and installation terms are agreed with each order.
How do I get a price?
Use the quotation form, call +91-9825096503 or WhatsApp us. Our price guide explains the cost factors.
Can I see the machine before dispatch?
Yes. We recommend checking the machine at our works before dispatch, with trial bends on your own material where possible.
Operation and maintenance
What maintenance does a hydraulic press brake need?
Clean hydraulic oil at the right level, regular lubrication, clean tooling, and periodic checks of seals, filters and electrical safety devices. See maintenance and safety.
What safety features should a press brake have?
Emergency stops, a guarded foot switch, side and rear guards, and instant ram stoppage. Light curtains or laser guarding can be added for higher safety.
